About Standing Committee

The Standing Committee is for the efficient management of the Center for Distance and Online Education, University of North Bengal (CDOE, NBU). This committee appears to play a significant role in overseeing and managing the affairs of the CDOE, NBU, ensuring its effective functioning and development. This committee has several important powers and functions, as outlined:

• The committee is responsible for identifying academic areas within CDOE, NBU that require strengthening and recommending appropriate measures to improve them.
• It ensures the proper utilization of physical, human, and financial resources within the center.
• The committee has the authority to make proposals for budget allocations related to the activities of CDOE, NBU.
• It can suggest rules pertaining to courses of study, discipline, and all administrative matters within the center.
• The committee is tasked with considering any other matters related to the activities of CDOE, NBU or any issues referred to it by appropriate authorities.
• It can frame rules and procedures for its own functioning, subject to the approval of the Vice Chancellor.

The Director, CDOE, NBU, should provide notice of not less than seven days before a meeting, and one-third of the total members plus one shall constitute a quorum for the meeting. However, no quorum is necessary for an adjourned meeting.
